Those Years

Those Years

The mahoganies whisper
lullabies I’ve heard
before

the sun is jealous
my Ulysses

I remember you sleeping
in the coffee fields
where tiny silver ingots

broken promises

flew
with blue sparrows
into clouds

tell the envious sun
I’ve given you
my water.
